Abstract


PT. MIFA Bersaudara is a subsidiary of PT Media Djaya Bersama, which operates in Aceh Barat Regency, Aceh Province. PT. MIFA Brothers is engaged in coal mining and sales. Reclaim feeder is a machine that is used in the system material delivery(input material). In this case, the reclaime feeder is a tool for thesystem conveyor in coal transportation. The function of a reclaim feeder is as a means of transferring Coal from the stockpile to the Belt Feeders. In the last few months,fractures often occur head shaft in the Reclaim feeder which greatly affects the production and delivery of PT. Mifa Bersaudara's coal. One unit of Reclaim feeder is capable of transporting 1600 tons of Coal/hour. Therefore, if there is an obstacle in the Reclaim feeder , Coal production will decrease from its carrying capacity. This study aims to determine the breaking point of the HeadShaft with Simulating the direction of the force and modeling realistically the performance of the shaft The  material used in this test is AISI 1045. Based on the results of the study, it was found that theFault Point was Shaft caused by the received load exceeding the limit load on the material.
