IDENTIFICATION and PREVALENCE OF Aeromonas hydrophila IN Cyprinus carpio AT CV. SERAMBI IKAN CENTER

Abstract

This research aims to identify and determine the prevalence of Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria in goldfish (Cyprinus carpio) cultivated in CV. Serambi Ikan Center, Lambaro Street, Aceh Besar. Aeromonas hydrophila is a pathogenic bacteria that can cause disease in fish and has the potential to cause economic losses in aquaculture. This research is based on the importance of controlling fish diseases to support the success of aquaculture. The method used is goldfish sampling, namely the descriptive survey method, followed by the isolation and identification of bacteria using culture techniques and biochemical tests. The results of the study showed that Aeromonas hydrophila was identified in a number of goldfish samples with a prevalence of 20%. This finding indicates that there is a potential risk of bacterial infection in goldfish farming at the research site.
