Optimalisasi Pengembangan Bandara Cut Nyak Dhien Berdasarkan Tren Pergerakan Penerbangan dan Penumpang di Kabupaten Nagan Raya

Abstract

Cut Nyak Dhien Airport serves as a regional air transport hub that plays an important role in supporting connectivity across the southwestern region of Aceh Province. This study aims to analyze trends in aircraft and passenger movements and formulate a conceptual model for optimizing airport development. The study adopts a descriptive quantitative approach using secondary data on commercial flight movements and passenger numbers for 2022–2023. The analysis examines growth rates, passenger flow composition, derived indicators, and illustrative projections. The results show that commercial flight movements increased from 127 in 2022 to 163 in 2023, representing a growth rate of 28.35%, while average monthly movements rose from 10.58 to 13.58. In 2023, the airport recorded 7,399 arriving passengers and 7,959 departing passengers, totaling 15,358 passengers. The departure-to-arrival ratio of 1.08 indicates relatively balanced passenger flows. Based on these findings, the study proposes an optimization model that links traffic indicators to three development pillars: operational optimization, infrastructure and service optimization, and connectivity and regional policy optimization. The model also incorporates monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. The proposed model is expected to provide strategic guidance for airport management and local governments in improving airport performance and supporting regional transport development.
